KHI Technical Services provides professional and innovative solutions in the areas of food and beverage, laundry, waste management planning, feasibility studies and operation in a commercial context. We offer totally independent consultancy, with no formal or informal relationship with equipment suppliers, dealers or manufacturers other than in the normal course of representing our clients’ interests.
Each project is approached with our understanding of a client’s business requirements, our extensive experience, and our ability to design facilities which are fit for purpose. Our goal is to satisfy design briefs, meet agreed budgets, and coordinate foodservice operational areas to meet building and programme requirements. We ensure that installations comply with contract documentation by effective inspections and management during manufacture and installation of equipment.

Our Background
KHI TECHNICAL SERVICES is a consulting company that specialises in food, beverage, laundry and waste management design and installations.
The company is owned and managed by Ian Hopper, who has more than 43 years’ experience in the foodservice and hospitality industry.
In 2013, following 24 years as Principal of McCartney Taylor Dimitroff (Qld) Pty Ltd, Ian established a fresh and exciting operation, KHI International. KHI commenced operating in the GCC in 2004 and continues to provide comprehensive design and documentation of kitchen, beverage, laundry and waste management facilities to the hospitality industry. Ian has been responsible for design, documentation and administration for a number of large projects in the Middle East, including international hotel chains and large institutional facilities.
Recognising the importance of local representation and to support the needs of our valuable clients, in 2018 KHI established a local presence in Dubai, trading as KHI Technical Services. Our workforce has been increased and a local office established, providing us with the opportunity to deliver our service with efficiency and immediacy, while maintaining the professional integrity that has always been part of the KHI consultancy. We also work with a team of retained professionals who are specialists in their discrete field, with years of broad experience internationally. This enables KHI Technical Services to offer a quality service focusing on the latest in innovative design development and service delivery.
Meet the team - all specialists in their field
IAN HOPPER
Ian Hopper, Principal, KHI Technical Services LLC. With more than 43 years in the food service industry, the breadth of Ian's experience extends to projects in Australasia, the Pacific and the Middle East.
His background in food service contracting and installation and qualifications in food service design, together with his knowledge and skills, enables Ian to provide assistance and advice on food service operations, budgeting and sales and marketing information on public and private sector projects.
Ian has been responsible for design, documentation and administration for a number of large projects in the Middle East, including international hotel chains and large institutional facilities.
Ian is a Professional member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), and as such upholds the Code of Conduct set down by the Association. He has served as its World Wide President (2010-12), Secretary Treasurer of the World Wide Board and as a member of the Asia Pacific Board of FCSI.
MAYBELLE GARCIA
May Garcia (Design Manager) has a Bachelors in Architecture, and has been working in the UAE for almost 12 years. With some 9+ years of planning and design experience as a Design Manager/Design Consultant in the Foodservice Consultancy field, May undertakes all aspect of design and documentation including 2D AutoCAD detailed drawings, fabrication elevation drawings, through to equipment data schedules and Specification documents.
Her technical and professional expertise is an asset to KHITS, with her objective to consistently deliver tasks to final completion with quality results.
UDIT AGGARWAL
Udit Aggarwal (Senior Revit Designer) brings to KHITS his extensive experience internationally in all areas related to food service and beverage design. He has a holistic approach to projects dealing with all aspects of operational and technical issues.
Udit approaches design with accuracy and superior technical skills, is expert in BIM 360 software and is fully conversant with building architecture and food service hospitality requirements. He has previously consulted on key international landmark projects such as Doha Metro Project, Expo 2020, Bollywood Park, Dubai Address Hotel, Dubai and TRSDC Coastal Village
AMIT KUMAR
Amit Kumar (Lead Revit Designer) is a highly skilled Revit Designer with many years experience internationally in the food service industry. He plays a key role in the adoption and implementation of Revit within the company.
Amit has demonstrated expertise collaborating with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution. He is adept at managing multipole projects simultaneously while ensuring delivery of high quality designs within strict deadlines.
His experience includes landmark projects such as King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) Riyadh, KSA, Mall of Qatar, Ala Moana Hotel (Hawaii) and Al-Arabi Stadium (Kuwait).
RUBYLYN SANTOS
Rubylyn Santos is a highly experienced administrative professional who possesses exceptional communication skills, able to liaise within the project team and with other stakeholders. She has been an integral member for various project teams undertaking the combined role of Document Controller, Receptionist and Team Secretary.
Ruby has 12 years experience in the UAE and her extensive knowledge relating to project processes and document management systems makes her a great asset to the KHITS team. Ruby comes to KHI Technical Services as the Office Coordinator.

during the course of the project.
